Marty The Horse, Calgary Stampeders, 100th Grey Cup, CFL Tradition and The Royal York Hotel

This Morning, Marty The Horse, official Mascot of the Calgary Stampeders CFL Football team, attempted the tradition of strolling through the front doors of a hotel.

Attempted, because this morning during the 10 a.m. hour, The Hotel Manager denied the horse entry.

In the truest sense of the word, it was a mêlée surrounding The Calgary Grey Cup Committee as they figured out the horse couldn’t fit through the revolving doors anyway.

Hotel management negotiated a compromise, whereby Marty and entourage could walk around the hotel and wind up for a photo-op in front of the building under their signage.

Despite ScotiaBank being an official 100th Grey Cup Festival sponsor, BMO Bank of Montreal invited Marty to stroll through First Canadian Place a couple of blocks north of the Royal York.

Hahaha! Marty, the stand in horse for @ is trending on Twitter, lol. Seems they're gonna let him into the Royal York after all!

Salvaging this PR Debacle, in the past hour, the Royal York invited Marty to enter the Hotel Lobby at 2 p.m.

Marty the horse has been invited back at 2pm today. Marty will stroll through the front doors as per the Grey Cup tradition.
